The five question types Simo answers
Every question is typed, so every answer arrives in a shape your code already understands. Decisions are probabilities, not sampled words.
Decisions: Yes/No, Choose one, Rate on a scale
| Type | What it does | Example question | Example answer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yes / No | Makes a direct binary evaluation. | Is the task finished? | no: 0.93, yes: 0.07 |
| Choose one | Selects from a predefined list of candidate options. | What should the agent do next? | press: 0.89, scroll: 0.06, stop: 0.05 |
| Rate on a scale | Rates the input against ordinal levels or a numeric scale, such as severity tiers 0, 1, 2 or 1 to 10. | How frustrated is the customer? | 2.4 of 3 |
These three return calibrated probabilities. They are the core of Simo-1 and Simo-1 Pro.
Values: Fill a value and Extract from the input (preview)
| Type | What it does | Example question | Example answer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fill a value | Supplies the exact value the next action needs, schema-constrained: an integer is always an integer, a list always parses. | Which button? | button: "Place order" |
| Extract from the input | Pulls values straight from what is actually there, with a calibrated self-check on every value. | Which order IDs appear? | ["A-20417", "A-20419"] |
Fill and Extract are in preview. Only Simo offers values with a per-value calibrated self-check alongside the decision.
Ask several questions per request
Because Simo reads the situation once, you should ask everything you want to know in one request. Ten questions about one screen cost little more than one: 104 ms versus 64 ms on Simo-1. See how Simo works.
Choosing the right type
- Use Yes/No for gates: is it finished, is it safe, does it violate the policy?
- Use Choose one for routing: which action, which team, which intent?
- Use Rate on a scale for severity, urgency and sentiment.
- Use Fill when the agent needs an argument to act.
- Use Extract when the value is in the input and must be pulled out: an order ID, an invoice number.
Frequently asked questions
What kinds of questions can Simo answer?
Yes/No, Choose one and Rate on a scale return calibrated probabilities or scale values. Fill a value and Extract from the input (preview) return typed values with a self-check.
Are filled values always valid?
Filled values are schema-constrained: an integer is always an integer and a list always parses.
